March Update: Shipping this Month!
about 5 years ago – Sun, Mar 03, 2019 at 12:24:03 AM

Hi Brewers,

Two things this month! The final stages of shipping and some fixes to the translations.

Shipping Information

The boats carrying Microbrew have arrived in their respective countries and the games will be making their way for fulfillment processing in the next 2 weeks!

In the UK, the games unloaded at port and pretty much done with customs. They will be delivered to us next week (we've been quoted delivery on the 5th of March) so we will start preparing the games to be posted out after we return from AireCon on the 11th.

In the US, we've had a plot twist - it turns out the games were unloaded in New York. The freight company have found them though and are arranging for the games to go by lorry to Jacksonville (due to arrive on the 7th of March). From Jacksonville they will be shipped to Quartermaster, hopefully getting to them a week later. So that's a little annoying, but not a disaster.

All this means that Microbrew should still be shipped to all backers by the end of March!

Speaking of AireCon, if you are attending and would like to collect your copy of Microbrew in person, message us and we'll bring it down with us. (Also, we love meeting our backers :) If you don't message us though, you won't be able to as we are not selling Microbrew at AireCon.

Translations

Thanks to Áxel Cisneros and Manuel García-Mallet we have an updated version of the Spanish rules in the usual place:

Nigel also has the Italian Solo rules and the Dutch version of the main rules waiting to be formatted, so we'll have them ready for you soon!

February Update: Shipping, Address Lockdown and more Translations
about 5 years ago – Sun, Feb 03, 2019 at 03:39:32 PM

Hi Brewers,

Only a couple of weeks since our last major update, but we've got some great news again. There's three things to talk about in this update: another translation is ready, the shipping info is ready and addresses are being locked down next week!

Address Lockdown

As mentioned in the last update, your addresses will be locked on Friday the 8th of February (one week from now!).  We need to process the address details ready for fulfilment in March so now is the time to check if your address is correct.

If you have moved, or think you will move before the end of March, it would be best to provide an alternative address.

You can check your address through your account on Backerkit using this link:

https://microbrew-board-game.backerkit.com/

(All the fulfilment will be done from the addresses provided on Backerkit - not kickstarter.)

Additional Rules

Thanks to Manuel García-Mallet, we now have a version of the rules translated into Spanish! You can get it here:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=110MgYIgAaLkDO78WBUNn6aYh3A57v6i-

And thanks to Hélène Garcia and Benjamin Wack we also have a version of the rules translated into French that you can get here:

 https://drive.google.com/open?id=1JqkKE1Dfuen4UHOuOHyc5psWDu-l7x67

Shipping Information

It's finally time to use the shipping gif again!

Microbrew is on boats! Let the waiting commence!

Specifically, the UK shipment is on:

  •  CMA CGM Louis Bleriot that departed on 31st of January and is due into Southhampton on the 24th of February.

The US shipment is on:

  •  Gjertrud Maersk/903E which left earlier and is due into Jacksonville on the 26th of February.

You can track their progress here (there are other vessel tracking services - let us know if you find a cool one!):

UK: https://www.vesselfinder.com/?imo=9776432

US: https://www.vesselfinder.com/?imo=9320233

Please remember that shipping is a very variable business, so these estimates are very estimate and are not when you're going to get your game, just when they get to port. It'll be a few weeks after hitting port to get through customs, get to distribution and then get shipped out to the backers - but progress is progress!

PS:

The animation up top is sadly not either of our ships, it's taken from the hypnotic 30 Days Timelapse at Sea. Go watch it, it's oddly soothing - especially when you're over-excited about boat related news ;-)

Shipping Addresses for Microbrew will lock in 2 weeks (8th February) - please change now if needed

January Update: Manufacturing and another translation
over 5 years ago – Thu, Jan 17, 2019 at 11:53:59 PM

Hi Brewers,

Wow, it seems like ages since we've had a full update, but we've got some great news to share. There's two things to talk about in this update: another translation is ready and the manufacturing progress!

Additional Rules

Thanks to Spyros Tsoukalas, we now have a version of the rules translated into Greek! You can get it here:

 https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Vkk-O1sIyhJTkmd1E_2SpXANuhv4dADh

Manufacturing Progress

Manufacturing is complete! Ish! Apparently, there was a mistake made in the packing, so although the manufacturing is actually done, there's some repackaging that has to be done that is costing us 4 days or so. There is good news though, we have a copy of the production version now! Look!

Look at all the beautiful stuff you're getting!
Look at all the beautiful stuff you're getting!

We've checked everything against the pre-production samples and all the issues we've had have been resolved perfectly. We're delighted with it now and know you will be too!

As usual, that's the headlines for now and the next major update will be when we get it on a boat, so keep an eye out for that one!

However if you're interested in seeing more photo's showing exactly what you'll be getting - there's loads of spoilers below! Warning - we get a bit excited in there!

---

The production copy was couriered to us in this cute little tree-box. There's an elephant on it, but that seems to be total coincidence. I was going to do a "guess what's in here" picture to start us off, but Sarah was so excited, she opened it while I was looking for the camera:

I see you peeking out!
I see you peeking out!

Loose in that outer box was the samples of the Addons, so they were first out:

The addons: a printed bag and the rubber backed mats!
The addons: a printed bag and the rubber backed mats!

I've got more pictures of them to show you, but they are Addons, so I'll get back to them at the end.

Next, the actual box! Microbrew will be delivered to you in this super-neat e-flute postal box:

Ready for the address sticker!
Ready for the address sticker!

It will be sealed with simple but sturdy tape ready for posting with everything inside.

When you open it up, you'll find this message from us explaining what is inside and simple guidance of how to get everything into the tin:

A letter from us to you!
A letter from us to you!

Under that, you'll find the tin and the wooden components in a bag.

The printed tin! We're so thankful that enough of you believed in Microbrew that we could do the printed tin. It's so awesome!
The printed tin! We're so thankful that enough of you believed in Microbrew that we could do the printed tin. It's so awesome!

The tin fits the box exactly, but under the bagged bits, there's the beermat / coasters from Stretch Goals 2 & 5 and at the very bottom the sticker sheet from Stretch Goal 4.

The cards and the rules are actually shrink-wrapped and inside the tin already, so lets have a peek at that:

Can't wait to get into that shrink!
Can't wait to get into that shrink!

And that's all the packages, so here's a picture of everything that will be in a single pack!

That's a lot of stuff!
That's a lot of stuff!

Now the wooden tokens haven't changed since the ones we showed you  in the December update, but we've taken a picture of them anyway - just for completeness:

All the wood!
All the wood!

So working front to back, that's all the malts and hops, the brewmaster's favours from Stretch Goal 3, the Brewmaster disc itself, the elephant, the valves and the player pieces including the extra colours from Stretch Goal 6.

And finally, here it all is - packed into the tin and ready to slip into you bag or pocket! Even though it wasn't intended, we managed to actually get all 4 sets of player coloured pieces into the tin - so that's nice.

Maximum game, minimum air!
Maximum game, minimum air!

---

Well, nearly finally - for those of you who ordered the Addons, here's the promised extra pictures:

A close up of the rubber backing. Not hugely exciting, but they are excellent and non-slippy!
A close up of the rubber backing. Not hugely exciting, but they are excellent and non-slippy!

You've already had a picture of the bag, but this one shows how it will look with the tin and all the mats inside:

Contents: 1 tin, 4 beermats and 3 rubber-backed mats!
Contents: 1 tin, 4 beermats and 3 rubber-backed mats!

There's even room in there for the other tin if you backed for two in order to play with up to 4 players!

So, if you've got all the way down here, you must be as excited as us about Microbrew, so it seems like a good moment to have another cheeky plug for voting in the BoardGameGeek "Most Anticipated Games 2019" here:

 https://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/251319/20-most-anticipated-board-games-2019-final-voting

We're aware we're not going to win against all those heavy hitters, but it's nice to still be in the contest!

---

Right, I think exceeded our allowance of exclamation marks for this month, so that's it for now!

Thanks and we'll keep you informed - next step, get it on a boat!
