Guess what? Another Shipping Update!
almost 5 years ago – Wed, May 22, 2019 at 02:34:05 AM

Hi Brewers,

All of the games have been shipped for over 6 weeks now and nearly all of you have your game and are (hopefully!) enjoying playing it.

If you do have your game, please consider rating us on BGG, we welcome all ratings and comments.

 https://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/240529/microbrew

There is a very small minority of backers who do not have their game, so if that's you and you haven't been in touch yet, can you please send an email to [email protected]

with the subject heading:        Notification of lost game [your name]

I will then do one of the following:

1. Check to see if we have your game returned to us.

If the game returned is stamped "did not claim" or "unclaimed", or if the address was incorrect, I will contact you and request you cover the cost of reshipment and PayPal fees. These games cannot be claimed against postal insurance and we cannot resend these games for free as this would mean we make an actual loss in your support. If you didn't receive any notification you would need to make a claim direct to your own countries postal system. (I can provide the label and photo evidence for you to use in your claim.)

If the game is returned for another reason I will investigate with Royal Mail and have the game reshipped once they confirm the cost can be covered by insurance.

2. If the game is lost (or has not been returned to me yet), I will make a claim to Royal Mail. This may take a few weeks. If they cannot find evidence that it is in transit to me as unclaimed, they should allow the claim.

In these instances, I will then ship new games out.

Unfortunately we do not have any 2 player breweries left and only a few bags. Hopefully this will not impact anyone, and I shall deal with this issue if it arises. I ask that if anyone is affected, they please be courteous and understand that I cannot provide something which we no longer have.

I submitted my first request to royal mail in mid April and they have only just responded, so the turnaround for information on lost parcels could be 4+ weeks. I will keep those people affected updated.

Kind regards

Sarah

Retailer Links
about 5 years ago – Mon, Apr 15, 2019 at 08:58:04 AM

Hi Lovely Retailers,

We've just gone through and added links to all of you that we could find pages for to our Microbrew page here:

https://www.onefreeelephant.co.uk/Microbrew

You won't have to brace for a deluge of customers or anything from our tiny corner of the Internet but we just thought we'd mention it in case you want it to link somewhere specific other than the page we found by googling you.

Or if you are missing from the list, its probably because I couldn't work out who you represented from your address details etc. and thus couldn't add you. Send us the details and we'll get you added!

Packing your Tin

A few people have sent messages to say they don't believe everything fits in the tin, so here's a little guide:

First a video showing everything taken out of the shipping box and then packed into the tin:

Now some photo's of the layers of putting just everything you need to play the game (plus one elephant) in the tin:

Stage 1: The bits
Stage 1: The bits

The best way is to put the thicker bits in first, the brewer meeples and the elephant - that's them in the top right corner. Make sure they go in lying down! Then add the cash tracker cubes and some of the malts to fill out that bottom layer. Finally, on top of the "base-layer" malts, add the rest of the malts. these should be laying flat too.

It should now look like the picture above.

Stage 2: The rules
Stage 2: The rules

The rules just go on top of the bits. We put them in next because they help hold the bits down while packing.

Stage 3: Small Cards
Stage 3: Small Cards

Split the small cards into two piles of 12 and then put them on top of the rules.

Stage 4: Big Cards
Stage 4: Big Cards

Last of all, the big cards then fill us up to pretty much the top!

Packed! And here's the bits that are spare on top.

Yet another shipping update!
about 5 years ago – Mon, Mar 18, 2019 at 02:16:41 AM

Hi Everyone,

A quick word on where we are with your games.

EU shipping

Just to let you know that all non tracked EU shipping has been sent!  This means that there will NOT be any emails with tracking details sent out.

1100 packages went out over 3 days from Thursday 14th - Saturday 16th , with an expected delivery period of 5 - 7 working days (which is essentially 2 weeks as weekends don't count).  Please don't report your parcel as missing unless four weeks have passed as some postal services can be slower.

We still have 94 European parcels that will be sent tracked, these will go out in the next two days.

ROTW shipping (this includes Canada and Australia)

ROTW shipping (everything outside of the EU, Mainland USA and VFI) will go out in the final wave from next Thursday 21st March.

Games to Australia, New Zealand and Canada will NOT be tracked.

Games to everywhere where the shipping cost was £18/£10 will be tracked.

US shipping

The US shipment has arrived and I am working with Quartermaster to ensure that the games will go out in the next two weeks,

VFI shipping

The VFI shipping to backers will commence in the next 2 weeks.

VFI Promo cards

VFI have confirmed that they did recieve a small number of promo cards. Therefore, all backers will now recieve a promo card in their shipment, and retailers will recieve enough for their order too.  These shipments will also start in the next couple of weeks.

MIssing parts

Any issues with your game or missing parts, please send me a message via the kickstarter message tool or email me at [email protected] .

Happy brewing

A little extra something
about 5 years ago – Tue, Mar 12, 2019 at 01:51:54 AM

Hi Brewers!

Now people are just starting to recieve their games, we've got something to explain.

Late in the production, our manufacturer emailed us to say we were entitled to a free promo card. "Cool!", we thought, "that'll give us some freebies to give out at shows and conferences and other times when we meet our backers in real life." so we had some art made with one of the characters from our very first game ORE-SOME and sent it over to them and thought not much more about it.

Last week when we unpacked the pallets we found the box of promo cards. All 27,000 of them! "Wow," we thought, "that's a lot of cards. What are we going to do with all these?"

So, we decided to throw two copies in with every game we sent out. We don't have the time or the manpower to open every package, put them in the box and then reseal them and we thought two would mean that even if one gets damaged, there's another one in there. They'll also be in the packaging for those being shipped out from Quartermaster in the States but unfortunately it's going to be impossible to get them into the packages being shipped from the Asian distributor. We're really sorry about that - we did try.

If you do get them, one "Sarsparilla promo card" can be added to the thirsty customers deck. It looks like this:

Doc. Francis there loves Sarsparilla, which matches the “DMML” recipe in the base game - the one with the scored out “perfect” that looks like this:

He also will pay an extra $2 for any beer that is sweet. (He's offering the ORE-SOME style dollars, but we'll give him a 1 for 1 exchange rate because we're generous that way.)

Now mechanically speaking, Sarsparilla makes DMML slightly more valuable than it should be, so it’s not recommended in highly competitive play but it was just meant to be a fun little reference to our first game, ORE-SOME that we hope you enjoy.

Now we just need to think of what to do with the remaining giant pile of promo cards we'll still have left. Perhaps some sort of fort...

Stay thirsty!
